Thanks to the success of movies like “The Hangover” and “Bridesmaids”, I expect we’ll be seeing a lot more similarly themed pre-wedding party-hard films to come our way in the near future. The first out of the gate is “Bachelorette”, which will premiere at Sundance next year and will see Kirsten Dunst, Lizzy Caplan and Isla Fisher as bitter bridesmaids of a blushing bride they called “Pigface” in high school.

“Bridesmaids” scene-stealer Rebel Wilson will surely do the same again here as the aforementioned poorly-nicknamed bride. James Marsden, Adam Scott and Kyle Bornheimer as the groomsman of the former Most Eligible Bachelor in New York round out the intriguing and impressive cast, and certainly the premise that promises possibilities of backbiting, infighting and self-destructive behavior makes the Leslye Headland directed project sound like more than just a “Hangover”/”Bridesmaids” rip-off (though it certainly could turn out to be just that as well).
