Career
| Isla Fisher was born in Muscat, Oman but moved with her family to Perth, Australia when she was just a baby. She began her acting career in commercials from the age of nine before winning a role in ‘Bay City’ and ‘Paradise Beach’. Many of us will probably remember her best for her role as the headstrong Shannon Reed in the hugely popular Australian soap ‘Home and Away’ from 1994 through till 1997. After this she attended the prestigious theater and arts training school in Paris which then led to roles in the musical ‘Summer Holiday’ and ‘Cosi’.
Her major breakthrough came in 2005 when she won the Breakthrough Performance Award at the MTV movie awards for her role in ‘Wedding Crashers’ alongside Vince Vaughan and Owen Wilson. Since then she has gone on to have parts in many movies. |

Isla’s fiance is Sacha Baron Cohen, creator of Ali-G and Borat to name but a few characters. Together they have one child, a daughter named Olive who was born in October 2007.
